Vietnam | Why choose it for your Work & Study?

Why choose Vietnam?

Singapore and Vietnam has participated in various economic and trade cooperation projects. A good example will be the Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) launched in 1996. This is perhaps the most obvious proof of Vietnam’s potential to rise in the near future. Moreover, being strategically located near countries like China and India, spell export opportunities for Vietnam into these huge markets. Unlike China, whose market has been filled with many players, Vietnam’s potential is still less visible to the public, thus making it a good destination for you who would want an edge over your competitors!

About Vietnam

Vietnam Local Culture

Vietnam’s culture is age-long and special that it is closely attached to the formation and development of the nation. It is influenced by Confucian ethics and has 54 ethnicities which spread throughout the country. Many languages and dialects are spoken in Vietnam, but Vietnamese is the country’s official language. The Vietnamese value system is based on four tenets namely allegiance to family, yearning for a good name, love of learning and respect for others. This is might be the reason why they are so approachable and friendly in nature. Marriage and family is very important in Vietnam. Most of them long to have their own family so as to expand their family line. Vietnamese life is profoundly influenced by ancestral worship. Children learn at a young age that they owe everything to their parents and ancestors. Therefore it is important to understand their way of life and their culture so as to be part of their community.

What do others say?

"It was a wonderful experience in Vietnam. Learning to live independently in another country will prove a challenge especially in a developing country like Vietnam. I gained valuable experiences by getting to know the Vietnamese people. Learning and communicating the Vietnamese language was difficult initially. I created the opportunity to converse in Vietnamese whenever I had to purchase groceries or food. This enhanced my vocabulary and I gained more confidence when speaking Vietnamese. Though there were times when people will not understand what I am speaking as the pronunciations were not clear enough for them.   My colleagues invited me to their homes, introduced me to their family and made me feel like that I was part of their family. It is very much a laid-back lifestyle and slower pace of life in Vietnam as compared to Singapore. The Vietnamese live life to the fullest even when they have little to spare. It was an enriching and worthwhile experience for me as it was my first time traveling and living overseas."
